Hurdles

1. Pitch - feel like singing, so hard for one who cannot sing really well on pitch....
2. Kanji - at first it feels like a blessing that Kanji is almost the same as Chinese, but then....I would automatically recall its Pinyin pronunciation rather than its hiragana pronunciation >.<
3. Speech - we did a mock shadowing today, it's so hard to listen and speak at the same time!

started taking 20th Century Japan with Prof. Garon, took his freshman seminar on the atomic bombing before,  thought it would be interesting to look at modern Japanese history and politics. typically interested in Abenomics, though when I was in Wakayama the locals told me they didn't really favor his policy - farmers were severely affected

Well, it looks like this whole senior year will be pretty much Japan-centric! :D

白夜行

People always like happy ending - what a simple story, but does reality often allow for that?
If everything had been always so ideal, then there weren't be people whose dream is only to be able to walk under the sun.

"There is no sun in my sky - it is always night. But it's not dark, because something takes the place of the sun. Though its light is not as bright, but it's enough for me. With such light, I can take nights as if they were days. Do you understand how it is like? The sun is never in my life - so I am not afraid of losing anything."

The reason I like Japanese novelists is that they always catch the subtleties, and often present the beauty through shadow (tragedies, hardships, etc). It makes me aware of the complexity of society and life. I started to think in other people's shoes - it is often so easy to judge people but so hard to understand where they are coming from.

Love and sin, white and black, good and evil - what would you pick?
And if you had to kill someone to survive or to save your only soul mate, would you be guilty?
Can Scarlett be forgiven?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time has attested two diverging paths - compromise is indeed not possible at all. But still, best wishes.

Introduction

Introduction

みんなさん、おはようございます!
お名前わ Kecy Wuです。Princeton大学の四年生です。中国人です。
I have been interested in different cultures for a long time. In freshman year, I took German and went to Munich for the summer – awesome experience of European culture and scenery!

In sophomore summer, I went for the Kyoto Global Seminar Program to learn Zen Buddhism and Japanese rock garden (枯山水). It furthered my interest in Japanese culture.

Besides that, I am also interested in modern Japanese history, and have done Chinese calligraphy since the age of four.

For entertainment, I enjoy Japanese food (especially ramen) a lot, and I also watch anime (コナン)and Japanese TV shows(深夜食堂)in my free time.

Oh last thing, favorite novelist: Keigo Higashino (東野圭吾)!
Looking forward to the classes!

Beautiful scenery -和歌山県

Zen temple -金閣寺
Rock gardens -龍安寺
Festival -祇園祭り
Ramen

Throughout the course I will try to write more in Japanese and post some of my travel photos in Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Wakayama, Nara, and Nagoya.
じゃあ、また!
